Parent and Teen

WordPress, UX/UI, Backend Rebuild

The Center for Parent and Teen Communication is based within the Division of Adolescent Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and they’re on a mission to promote positive youth development and foster strong family connections to help parents raise teens prepared to thrive.

What We Started With

We took over the site from an agency who built the site in WordPress but used unorthodox methods and a lot of unnecessary custom coding which caused various issues including more human stress and man hours.
  1. Client Owned Site Hosting: The original developers were hosting the client on their own hosting plan and the way they had it setup left a rat’s nest to unravel. Even though the hosting company was a top 5 company the implementation was very unusual with complicated methods of site and content optimization that cost many hours unraveling. Not fun!
  2. Website Redevelopment: We rebuilt the entire backend of the site with a new framework, new suite of preferred and premium plugins, some better UX/UI, and implemented smarter and streamlined ways for their team to deliver content faster while reducing stress and saving many internal work-hours.
  3. Website Redesign: Currently underway.

Phase 1 of this project had a full rebuild of the backend and many improvements that saved weekly time and money for the client’s internal team.

  1. Hosting, Website Support
  2. We’re in the midst of a Phase 2 effort which includes: Website Redesign.
